Best Jacket Ever
It is a great jacket, light weight and you want to use it in and outside when it is very cold weather. keep you cool and not very hot!!
I really recommend it to a friend cause it is for rainy, cold and windy days!

Addicted
A must-have mid-layer. This is the lightest, most comfortable jacket I have ever owned. I even wear it inside instead of a fleece. It is warm and I wear it alot on its own. But once it gets below mid-20s....you'll need to use it as a mid-layer. I wear it underneath my ski jacket when I ski, and most of the time I am roasting. I'm 5'4'' usually a size 4, and the small fits great.

Great Jacket
This is a great jacket! It is warm but lightweight and is easy to store as it folds up very small. Great for camping.
I can't wait to see if it is good in the snow as well.
Altrec is a great company and totally backs up their products as well.

Now, if it would just get cold!
I'd been eying the Thunder jacket for quite a while and decided to go for it. It's very lightweight, yet warm. The fit is good...I'm 5'4, 105 lbs. and ordered the extra small. The blue color is exceptional. I can't really comment on the durability because I've only had it for a few weeks. I love it most for travel because it can be scrunched into a tiny space and not add weight at the airport. Our weather has been very mild this winter, so the jacket has been perfect for the 40-50 degrees we've had.

Love this jacket
I received this jacket as a gift and truly love it. It is amazing how lightweight it is and that it will keep you so warm. I am looking forward to using this jacket on my future trip to Utah!! I would like to see the sleeves have elastic around the wrist, otherwise, it is an amazing jacket.

Great Down Jacket
My Girlfriend is tall (5'8 and thin) and she has a hard time finding clothes that are long enough for her legs and arms. I have found that climbing gear- pants, shirts and jackets- fit her best and this jacket is perfect. All of the Summit Series gear is "Alpine Fit" and has a slim fit and long cut in the arms for climbing and moving.
This really is a beautiful jacket- and it is warm. Very warm. My girlfriend wears this every day to work, the pub, skiing and it packs down small (in its own pocket) so she takes it with us to the gym or snowshoeing to put on after a workout.
On more thing I would like to mention is that I wear all the summit series gear also. The durability and performance of this clothing collection is amazing. Top of the line gear from north face- and because of the alpine fit it looks amazing also.

Thunder Jacket Best Coat You Will Ever Own!
I bought this jacket and a similiar NorthFace Jacket for my Husband one month ago. This is the absolutely best jacket either of us has ever owned. He only takes his off for me to wash. It washes like a dream looks brand new! Soft, Very light weight but very warm. I love, love, love it! Thinking of buying another just in case;)!

a little too puffy
This jacket seemed very warm, and I liked the longer sleeves which are often hard for me to find. However, it seemed a little too puffy for my liking, so I returned it.

Scored points with my wife
I bought this down jacket as a gift for my wife. She loves it. She loves the light weight, almost wearing no jacket at all feel--yet is very warm. She is small and gets cold easily--so she wears this jacket anytime the temperature drops below 55 degrees.
She also loves the look of the jacket--she can wear it with almost anything casual. It does not look or feel bulky--yet still keeps her warm even in the very cold. She has had it now for almost a year and it still looks great.
I scored some serious points with this purchase!

Best Winter Jacket
I have had this jacket for a few seasons now and it is my favorite thing to wear in the winter. It's extremely light-weight yet very warm. I wear it under my boarding jacket and it keeps me the perfect temp. And I wear it alone throughout the winter. It's also a really flattering fit- and the arms are long! I bought a small, and I'm 5'8". Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Love My Jacket!
I love my jacket! It's so warm, soft, and it does not make me look like a football player! You would never believe that a jacket so light and thin would be so warm, no wonder athletes wear it all the time.

North Face women's thunder jacket
I've had this north face's thunder jacket for some time now and in my opinion it's great. It's comfortable and is lightweight and because of that is easy to carry. It has a beautiful design and it's elegant and feminine.
Acording to the size chart, I chose size S acording to it's measures and it suits me perfectly. I'm about 1.63 m height and my weight near the 56 kg.
I LOVE THIS JACKET!
The only negative thing that I noticed is that some feathers from the jacket went out. But that's the only detail.

Amazing
I can't stress how much I loved this jacket through the cold winters in Colorado. It was super lightweight, extremely comfortable and very warm! I didn't believe it would be possible that something so thin and light would really keep me so cozy warm.
The fit is attractive and it seemed true to size to me. I am 5'8", thin and purchased a large.
I have no complaints about this jacket and I would highly recommend!

Great Down Jacket
I bought this jacket for my wife birthday's gift.This is a great light weight down coat to pack in your backpack for back country skiing or camping in the summer time! My wife love it very much !!! You can use this as a multi-season jacket for all out door activities. Definitely wouldn't wear it in a rainstorm, but snow storms its great!

A great travel jacket
This super feather weight jacket is amazingly warm for its class. It is very easy to travel with as it can be easily rolled up and thrown in a bag or purse--taking up relatively little space. Also, the weight is virtually undetectable on the body or around the waist and won't weight you down while you are on the go. The sporty bright navy color is plus.

Thunder Jacket
Jacket is nice and warm. Thinner than the NF Nuptse jackets, but feels warmer. Not too bulky. These jackets last a really long time, wash mine often and still looks new.

perfect gift
I got this jacket for my girlfriend for valentines day. I have a small mailbox and I laughed that the mailman was able to deliver it by shoving it into the small box. Jacket is perfect for fall and spring. Very compact. Ecellent purple color especially since she is a huge ravens fan! Excellent price and shipping. 50 dollars cheaper than sug retail.

good buy
I purchased this coat for my daughter. She wanted something light and warm. She is usually a size 0 and we ordered up to a size small which is perfect. There is plenty of room for a sweater with the size small. It is not a bulky coat and is comfortable when she dirves and is warm for New England winters. We tried the xsmall in the store and it fit her well but decided to go a size larger, so glad we did and it doesn't look oversized at all. If she went with the xs, it would probably be too tight or not as comfortable with a sweater underneath. She's 5'4" and is 100 lbs. Hope this helps

this is my favorite jacket, not too bulky, but WARM! It is packable. It is slightly fitted so it does not make you like a marshmellow. I now own this jacket in 2 colors and bought one for my mom too!

Solid Winter Jacket
I bought this jacket for my wife and she is very pleased with it thus far. She likes that the jacket is fitted but not overly bulky. As a taller woman, she likes that the sleeves are a bit longer, too.

Very comfortable.
fits great, looks great, very comfortable. Fabric feels very thin for outerwear. Probably best worn with a shell. I would recomend this jacket to anybody who wants to looks good and stay warm, but not as a stand alone for outdoor activitites. My wife says it is like being wrapped up in a down comforter

Lightweight and Warm
I am 5'11" tall and a medium fit perfectly in the sleeve length and torso length. Perfect for wearing alone on cold winter days. I would highly recommend this jacket.

Northface Thunder Series summit Jacket
I love this Jacket. At first i was hesitant to purchase, but after I received it and wore it , I must say that I am extremely happy with my purchase. i live in Florida, but I really need to keep warm when I travel up North in the cold weather. It is extremely warm, light weight, and true to fit.

This is the best jacket i have ever purchased bought it for a trip to Alaska not only was it very warm it was also light weight and easy to get around in it didn't hinder my movement at all. It rained a couple of days and i stayed dry. I didn't mind the price at all as i got what i paid for, i really liked the fit too most of the time it seems to me the north face runs a little small not this jacket it fit perfectly so do purchase one you will not be disappointed.

Love this jacket
This north face jacket is the best! So warm and stylish. I love that the sleeves are nice and long and it zips up high to keep your face and neck warm. The plum color is so gorgeous!

nice but big
This jacket has a lot going for it and overall great style. The problem I ran into was that it runs big and and there are no shoulder seems which gives a bulky look. I returned it wishing it that it had a litle more structure. Love everything else though.

Love the weight, color and warmth!
Overall this is a great down sweater becasue of the 800 fill. Very light weight. If I would change two things it would be the length of the sleeves (too long) and perhaps make it a little looser around the hip area.

Good looking sport jacket
For once, a puffy jacket that isn't puffy! I bought XS, sizing was perfect. The black sheen, contoured fit and cinch cord adjustment all made jacket flattering. It is surprisingly light and is definitely a mid-layer; I get cold very easily and, if I don't have a lot of layers on underneath, would feel more comfortable wearing this jacket in 30 deg or above. It is a short jacket -- hits right at top of hips -- but it's practical, portable and attractive. A fun wear!

Super light, Warm and comfy
I bought this jacket for my wife and she absolutely loves it. I also have the men's version of this jacket. Extremely light and warm. Easy to pack and compressible. We have owned other down jackets none comes close to the comfort and warm. I would definitively recommend this jacket!

Northface Thunder
I got this jacket as a gift for Christmas. Less than one month later, I have 4 holes in it and the down is pouring out of it. All of this is due to a day of sledding in Maine with the kids. This is unacceptable to me in an active wear coat that is touted as "Built to endure extremes of weather and terrain, Summit Series products deliver the highest level of performance from base camp to summit." This is my first and only North Face product. I will not spend money on their stuff again. Further, when I returned to the shop to discuss repair options, the shopkeep who helped me confessed that the same had happened to his daughter with her Thunder (again, less than a month after purchase). He stated that the coat is a piece of %$#@. For the prices they charge, Northface ought to be ashamed. Certainly, this coat would not withstand a summit of any mountain if it couldn't withstand a trip to the sledding hill with kiddies. Do not waste your money.

Love it!
I tried one on at a local store early in the season and loved it. It's so lightweight and soft, you don't realize you have one on. Sadly though, I didn't buy it and when I got this one at Altrec, its a little tight. I'm not sure why but possibly one was the 08 version and this one the 09. It upset me to return it but would recommend it to anyone! If it fits you, it's an absolutely beautiful coat and from everything I read, its also warm.

Fabulous Jacket
I bought one of these for my daughter last year and have wanted one ever since. We just got back from a trip to Antarctica where several women bought another brand on the ship costing $100 more and had a shorter waist length. Love love love this lightweight coat. Great for travel and warm as toast but never makes you hot.

Love this jacket!!
This jacket is awesome!! Very lightweight,stylish,and very warm. I would probably recommend going up a size, feels kind of snug in the shoulder area and I'm pretty small. I usually wear a small in the fleeces and purchased a medium in this jacket and may have even ordered a large because of the shoulder room!! I don't think it is true to size. I'm 5"6 and 130lbs.

not quite right
I tried the grey one but it has too much sheen. The length was good but the upper-arm area was too big & bulky and looked strange. I really wanted to like this jacket, but it just wasn't quite right for me. Many thanks to Altrec's customer service dept though!

my absolute FAVE down sweater /jacket
outstanding feel, fit, warmth. I LOVE this jacket, own it in 4 colors and buy it whenever it's on sale. - silky feel - low static, low crinkle - drawstring at hip to stop aircirc - high zippable neck - very stuffable - goof length, good cut I wear this as my top 'suitcoat' layer indoors all winter, dress it up or down. It beats any down sweater competition, and I have tried ALL the other brands!

Not quite right
I ordered this jacket in the surf blue color. It had bright red binding on the inside seams, and you could dark pieces of down through out the jacket. I sent it back! Otherwise, in other colors, it would have been acceptable.

So light and warm
This jacket is very warm and soft and packs to a size of a softball. The material seems very delicate, so I would not use it as a primary, daily jacket. However, it's a perfect light layering option. I'm 5'4" and Small fits right at the hips. The powder blue color is just dreamy, and does not look 'metalic' like it seems in this picture.
