Coat I've been looking for
Extremely warm, yet it is so lightweight and easy to wear without the bulk. I have bought a few winter coats and they just did not have the warmth and the warm ones were bulky or unflattering. I love the style because I can wear this to work. Worth the money!!

Love this jacket!
I have the Carmel vest and was looking to buy another in the swamp green color when I came across this jacket....so I got the jacket instead. Very glad I did, it is so warm and comfy, but also looks nice too!

Good quality, but thinner than expected
I bought this jacket for my mom. The quality of this jacket is very good, just as anyone would expect a North Face product will be. However, the jacket is a little thinner than I thought. Don't know whether it will keep my mom warm or not. I guess I can only find out when the winter comes.

keeping you warm while on the move
When I think of the word Transit I think of moving! So when you're out this winter moving about, this is the perfect jacket to be wearing. It's warm, stylish and comfortable although it may run a little bit large, it's perfect to wear over your sweater or hoodies. I love the length, removable hood and the 2 way zipper. I hate how jackets bulk up while driving, I usually end up taking my jacket off regardless of how cold it is just to be comfortable. But the 2 way zipper allows me to stay warm and comfortable while driving.
Ps: if you're looking for a tight snug fit, then I would order the next size down! But if you are looking for a little bit of wiggle room, then I would order your true size, like I did!

Very light & warm
I bought this jacket because my boyfriend has the same one, but for men, and he loves his. As I bought it at the end of winter, I haven't actually worn it yet. I can't wait for winter to come again so that I can put it on.
I chose it for the the length, which is just right to keep my lower part warm when touring around European cities.

Not warm with feathers coming out!
This was my first North Face buy! I was looking for a warm , light jacket for NY winters. First, the size is to big. I wear S but this S is like an M to me. But the worst thing is that this Jacket is not warm enough! today it was 45 degrees in NY and I wore it outside for couple of hours and I felt how the wind was coming through this jacket and giving me chills! It's so disappointing and I can't imagine wearing this jacket in real winters. I already took the labels off and i can't return it now which I would in a second.Maybe this is why they are giving the size bigger so that you could wear a fleece underneath.Ah, the feathers are also coming out!

Reliable North Face
I bought this jacket for my daughter's trip to Ireland. It was perfect. It was really warm, but was not too cumbersome for her to pack or carry if she needed to.

Best coat
I'm 5 ft and this coat could not fit me better. I got it in brown and the dirt and salt wipe right off. It is a very warm and light weight coat. It's gotten me by some very cold days here in Minnesota. It has a soft sheen but not shiny. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend but it was worth every penny!

Perfect Length
I just purchased the Women's Transit Jacket and I love it! i am a little over 5' tall, so I wanted one that was carcoat length. This fits perfectly and is very practical. I have been buying Northfaces for years, for myself and my family and am never disappointed.
I ordered it on a Thursday morning, and by early afternoon I had received a notification that it had already been shipped! I shopped around for this jacket, and Altrec was the only site that offered it on sale, and for quite a significant savings!

North face woman transit jacket
It is a very nice jacket. I am 5'2", 115 lbs, small size fits a bit larger than expected but with some room for a sweater. It will be perfect if small size comes 3 more inches longer that will be just above my knees. It indicated on the spec as 30 inches long but the size small is only 27 inches. Otherwise, I love the warmth and lightness of the jacket.

Very happy with this jacket
I love it! It looks great on and is very warm. I have the North Face Triple C and the Patagonia Downtown Loft coats which are very long, and the North Face Arctic Parka which is knee length and I wanted something a little shorter when it was too warm to wear any of those, but still wanted a warm jacket. This one covers the butt and hits the top of the thigh so it is perfect, I do not like my jackets any shorter than that. And it has a really nice hood, I don't like my coats without hoods. It has great lines, very flattering. The fabric is soft and silky, I got the black. No problems with the zipper or feather shedding as I have seen others complain about! All around great jacket and right now you can get it on sale ... don't resist!

Awesome jacket
I was looking for a jacket to survive Minnesota Winters. Works awesome on VERY cold days, but is light enough to also wear daily in the winter and not be too warm!!

warm jacket
I am very pleased with this jacket. I am 5’3 and I have a small size. It fits me perfectly. It is super warm without having too much of clothes. I live in Texas, so we don’t have very cold weather, I only wear it when it below 30 degree. I was wearing a thin cotton sweater underneath and got very warm plus with the cozy hood for added warmth. The only tiny thing that I was unexpected was the black color is little shiny than I thought.

Love North Face!
My friend has this jacket, and I had been admiring it for weeks. Then Altrec had this fabulous sale-I bit the bullet. It is light weight, warm, and great for those Seattle cold snaps. My only complaint is the zipper gets stuck on occasion, as my does my friends. A flaw from NF-almost unheard of!

Great Jacket
I'm 5"2 and got the jacket in a medium and it fits great. The length is just right, not too long or short. The jacket is super light weight and great for every day wear. Great value for the price.

Loving My North Face!
This is the second North Face coat that I've purchased and as a person that HATES the cold-the women's transit jacket is worth it's weight in gold! I've owned the knee length version of this coat for almost 7 years and it has held up amazingly well through the brutal Michigan winters. In fact, what prompted this purchase was that I finally wore down both zippers on my old North Face and had to send it to the manufacturer to be repaired. Needless to say, mid February is a horrible time to be without my North Face, so of course I ordered a new one! The coat runs large, so if you are trying to decide between two sizes, definitely go with the smaller size. I'm 5'5" and big busted-I ordered a large in the graphite grey and it's perfect!

Stylish and Toasty
This my first North Face jacket - and I love it!! The shiny black is subtle, not loud. The stitching is even and secure, and the zipper is high quality. I really like that there's a bottom zipper pull to vent when I need to cool off without taking off the jacket. Sizing runs a tad big, as this is not a NF fitted style. I'm on the high end of a size 4, and the small is perfect for me. Length is enough to cover my hips and rear. Overall, I have found this jacket to be windproof, waterproof, and able to stand up to the Chicago winters I must endure. I walked one of the coldest spots in the city and was perfectly warm with a cardigan sweater underneath. So happy I found Altrec! Speedy delivery. Thanks!

Nice coat, a little big
I am pleased with the look and the price of this jacket. I am 5'5" and a size 4ish. I usually wear a small in North Face. This jacket is a little big through the chest. I plan to keep the coat as it fits well enough and the price was good.

Wonderful Winter Coat!
Love this coat! It is the perfect length, wonderfully warm, and fits very tailored. I live where it's very cold, and this coat is much warmer than it first appears.

A Fab cold weather coat !
I purchased two Women's Transit Jackets: one for myself and one for my daughter. The purchase was prompted by her need for a warm but lightweight coat that she could use in very cold or bad weather to walk 10 blocks from her home to the train station in the city on her commute to work. I purchased one in graphite grey, and one in bittersweet brown. They are both beautiful. Just the right length, below the butt but not so long they are tough to walk in. The flexibility and the lightweight feel of the coats make them a pleasure to wear! They are incredibly warm and snuggly, but so flexible that you don't feel encumbered at all. North Face knows what they are doing with cold weather gear! We love these coats !

Excellent Parka!
I live in Texas and walk every day. Last week we had temperatures in the single digits, 6 degrees!, with windchills below 0. The warmth of the parka was outstanding! I even tried wearing a short sleeved t-shirt underneath it after the weather warmed up a bit and it was quite comfortable.
I would recommend this parka to anyone who needs warmth without the weight of a heavy coat. I love it!

This coat is lightweight and very warm. I was a little skeptical at first, that it would be warm. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I like a coat that has a little bit of length to it and this coat fit the bill perfectly. I ordered this in a Medium and the size is true to fit. The color is very chic. I ordered the Slate and I love it.

I think its worth for each penney.I bought the shiny black color The only thing i was not happy is the northface logo on the jacket is not white in color. Love this coat
I love my new coat. It is perfect for every day and even for dressy occasions. The hood keeps me warm in the winter and the fit shows off my figure. I am 5 4 1/2 amd weigh 145, but I ordered a small and it fits great. I had a different northface for a few years. but it was a little bulky and I really like the way this new coat fits. It's very warm and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a hot coat!
I've been looking at North Face jackets for a long time now. They are so expensive, that I thought I had to be SURE I would love the jacket before I would buy one. Well, it's funny how this style was on that I immediately wrote off as not what I wanted. Then I went to a store to try on a bunch of North Face styles and they had a bunch of these in brown. So just for the heck of it I tried one on and it looked AMAZING. I could not stop looking at myself! In fact, I've worn it a couple of times now, and I still can't stop checking myself out in it. Everyone says I look really skinny in it (I *am* thin, though, so I dunno). The style itself is very roomy. It seems slightly bigger than other North Face styles, but I think it's supposed to be that way because it still fits me fine in the waist.

Great coat!
I shopped for a really long time looking for the "perfect" winter jacket. I finally found it! It fits perfect -- I wear either a medium or large -- I got the medium and it is a great fit. The length of the sleeves are good. Altrec.com also had the best price. The only issue I have found is the zipper is difficult sometimes. Maybe I just need to break it in a little more! Other than that, I would definitely recommend this coat to anyone.

runs big
I bought this item becuase of the warmth, but it runs very big. I recomend others to choose a size down when purchase it. I normally wear size small, but I have to wear xs on this one.
But other than the sizing, this jackect is great.

Great Coat
This is an awesome coat!! It is the perfect weight and provides warmth without the bulk of a heavy coat! The removable hood and other features make it practical for many uses. I use the inside zip pocket and IPod holder when I walk in the mornings. I loved it so much that I purchased one for my sister for Christmas. She has tried hers out and loves it too. Never mind that the coat looks great!

Loves this jacket
This is so worth every penny. It is pricey but I love it. It is so light that you won't feel a thing and it is extremely warm! I stayed outside at 30F with just a shirt under and felt warm. Would recommend it to anyone.
The fit is slightly big. I am 5'4 and 115 and got an Xs.
Wish it has more color choices.

I think this jacket runs really large. I bought it for my daughter who usually wears a size small but it was really big on her. Also, there are no cuffs or elastic on the sleeves so sometimes her arms get cold. She likes the extra lenth.
