I really like this jacket. It does run small though. If you wear a medium in the Denali I would get a large in this. It is very warm and almost feels like a sweatshirt on!

perfect!
January 01, 2011

I can't stand wearing bulky, hot and uncomfortable coats that make my chin itch in the worst way! I was trying to find something light weight without freezing. I own other north face products, this one is the best. It keeps you warm and you manage to comfortable. The material is soft, yet very thin. I love this product! The hood is also very helpful and I am so glad they added it! Plenty of pockets, they do not get in the way and are in useful locations. I am short, so the sleeves are a tiny bit too long, but I just fold them in a tad and it works!

Great fit, high quality
March 10, 2011

I typically wear a small (I have a small NF Venture raincoat), but the medium Windwall fits perfectly. This jacket is very fitted and flattering. The sleeves are a bit long, but the elastic at the wrist helps keeps them in place. I usually layer two fleeces, but the Windwall is all I need now- would definitely recommend!

great company and product
October 31, 2010

I was very please with this company....fast shipping and great costumer service. This is a great jacket and would be very warm and cozy. Nice flattering shape but I agree with other reviews that said the shoulders are a little baggy. I unfortunately will be returning my Bordeaux Red jacket because it is not the color I expected (more of a purple then red). I will be placing another order for a different color:) Great site and company, great prices and free shipping...what more can you ask for! I will be giving this company my business for future orders:)

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value

Very Warm and lightweight!
December 07, 2007

I bought this coat to wear to Alaska in late November. In 20 degree weather it was the only coat I needed. Much below that I did need an extra coat. For warmer climates this is all you will ever need.

great lightweight jacket
March 08, 2008

This jacket is great for cooler weather or for layering. The windproofing is really good too, it blocks almost all of it, making it much warmer than a standard fleece. It also fits very well. The only drawback is that it isn't as stretchy or fuzzy as a regular fleece, but I'm willing to give that up for extra warmth.

nice jacket, but small
August 17, 2011

I own several TNF jackets, in XS and S (5'2'' and 125lbs). I bought this in a S cause I heard it runs small, but even the small fits smaller than the others and is a little tight through the shoulders. It looks nice, is light weight but warm and is mostly windproof, so I kept it, but I probably need a M! Nice addition to the rest of my North Face collection!

it's fit and not so bulky, perfect for spring and fall seasons in DC with nice enough wind protection for outdoors and breathable when indoors. Run a bit small so M size fits me well (5'4" ~120lbs).

Gift for my HS daughter and she loves it

You won't be disappointed in your purchase!
April 03, 2008

I love, love, LOVE this jacket; in fact, I own two of them! It's nicely constructed, fits well, and the brushed fabric is soft. It feels a little "stiff" at first but softens after laundering. I especially like the cinch cord bottom and the longer-than-normal sleeve length. The jacket does NOT have a left vertical chest pocket as the description states, but does have a convenient and much-appreciated small zip pocket on the left sleeve which is perfect for cash or keycards. It's not too heavy to layer under a down jacket or vest when it's cold, and is my only jacket once the Minnesota winter temperature climbs into the mid 30's. The PERFECT jacket for windy spring days!

Not Impressed
April 01, 2009

I usually buy Small jackets, but after reading reviews saying this one was a bit roomy, I went for the XS. Unfortunately the fit of this jacket is so odd that I don't see any size fitting me right - unless I wear hockey or football pads underneath it. I am 5'2" about 115 lbs, and the shoulders & chest of the jacket were humongous on me! Simultaneously, it was too short for my liking (barely covering the belt loops on my pants). Also, the sleeves are tapered, making the cuffs so small that the wide upper portion of the sleeve can't fall naturally - which puffs them up even more around my shoulders! As far as the material & function of the jacket are concerned, it looks well-made, and felt quite warm. I like the outer layer of jackets to be more smooth, but this one has a fleece-like softness. I will be returning this for a more flattering, longer length jacket.

Does not fit like the Windwall I
October 29, 2011

I ordered the same size as my beloved Windwall I jacket. The mid section was too tight to zip and the sleeves are approximately 3 inches longer. I was really hoping the fit would be the same, as I really wanted the thicker fabric and the hood. I am returning this jacket today.

Great!
December 14, 2009

I like this jacket very much and I wear it everyday. I live in Arizona, and you can just wear a T-shirt as layering, it is warming enough in this winter.

good quality / weird fit
December 22, 2009

This is a nice jacket but the fit was really weird... snug around the hips and arms but baggy in the shoulders. Not at all comfortable and there was no way to make it work for me. I returned it. A shame. The orchid color is beautiful.

March 09, 2011

Very comfortable jacket. It feels a little snug in the waist area so layering up is not an option. The arms are a little bit long for me but I am petite so that could be why. Otherwise, it is a comfortable jacket that keeps me warm when the wind cold air is swirling. I recommend this jacket to others.

The jacket was great quality wise, but I am disappointed with the fit. North Face sizing varies greatly from jacket to jacket (which I guess I should have known) but I own other jackets in a L that fit a bit big, so I expected to XL in this jacket to be perfect, which it was far from. Just overall too small. Bummer.

Nice but stiff
March 09, 2011

This jacket is a very durable one and in 30 degree weather, I was fine with a tanktop and this jacket. The jacket is very warm and protects you completely from the wind, but it is a bit stiff. It's not comfortable like a pullover or zip up hoodie, and it's a bit short on my long torso. Other than that, this jacket is a good one if you don't mind the stiffness.

This is a great jacket
October 24, 2008

I bought 1 for me, one for my teenage daughter. It is soft enough for wearing around a chilly office or casual wear--not heavy, but warm. The hood covers well. It is a roomy but not boxy fit, and layers well. very versatile--I'll wear it under a shell for skiing. we live in wyoming with lots of wind-this is a perfect all-season garment.

Lightweight yet Nice and Warm
January 03, 2008

My daughter wanted this for school (didn't want anything bulky) and this jacket serves the purpose very nicely. We will probably buy another North Face in the future.

March 12, 2008

Great Mid-weight Jacket
May 23, 2011

I bought this jacket 3 weeks ago, and I think I have worn it every day since then. Great for the cool spring & fall weather in the Northwest. It's very warm for its weight, and I definitely notice the wind protection. I would have given this jacket a 5/5 if it was just a little longer. I am 5'10" and 150 lbs, with a long torso, and my shirts usually poke out the bottom of my Windwall 2, but it's still long enough to stay comfy. That being said, the Medium had sleeves that were still plenty long for me - one of the reasons I love The North Face so much! There is some discussion in these reviews about this jacket running small. I think that you need to think about the ways you would wear it to determine the size you need. I am usually a Medium in North Face jackets, and I stayed with that size in this case. I can wear it over a long sleeved shirt and maybe a lightweight fleece, but I can't fit more layers underneath my Medium. But, this size gives me a nice form-fitting shape (it is much more form fitting than in the picture). If I had gone with the Large I know I could wear it over more layers, but I doubt it would give me that same shape. I hope this helps!

I am a college student so i have to walk all around campus to attend my classes. I didnt want a heavy jacket to be carrying around so i purchased this jacket. Pros: hooded, light weight, netural colors, Cons: fitted small

The Perfect Jacket
March 22, 2008

This jacket is the best! I walk every evening in a Southern California coastal environment (windy, damp, and cool) and this jacket is perfect year round! Although it is very light weight, it is effective at blocking the wind, it wicks away the sweat, and it keeps me warm! I wear it every night I walk.

Great spring jacket..
March 27, 2008

This jacket is so cute! It really is wind resistant. Arm length runs a little long but the the whole length of the jacket runs a little short... so you pick your size accordingly.

awesome fit and super comfortable!
September 28, 2009

I've been looking for a fleece that's not bulky. I don't really like fleece with pile that is too thick and cushy as it looks quite bulky under more layers. This Windwall 2 is the newer version and the cut is much more flattering. It isn't bulky at all, and the waffle-like interior is very comfortable

TNF Windwall II- Women's
December 27, 2010

As usual TNF delivers! I love this jacket, I have a Windwall I and now a Windwall II, they are both great quality. the only difference btwn the two is the hood. Its warm, durable, stylish and cuts the wind on my morning workouts. I usually wear a small or extra small in this brand but bought a medium for it to be comfortable with layers(it runs a little small). My 15 Year Old Daughter Loves It!
February 07, 2012

Almost everyone we know has the Denali North Face Jacket, but I think this Wind Wall 2 Jacket is so much better because it gives the added benefit of wind protection. Typically, she leaves for school before dawn, so it's pretty chilly so early in the morning. With this jacket, she feels warm & toasty and she looks pretty cool. I, personally, am not crazy about the blue color but she loves it, so that's what counts!

Great alternative to Denali
January 02, 2011

Bought this for our daughter as a replacement for her 5 yr old Denali. She wanted one with a hood and considered both this and the Denali hoodie. She reports that this jacket has a more flattering fit (is more fitted) than the Denali and feels warmer, perhaps due to its windproof quality and its more snug fit. The Medium fits her perfectly - she is 5'4" 120 lbs. She also likes that while all of her college friends seem to have a Denali, she hasn't seen this one on campus yet (and it is much cheaper!). Would definitely recommend.

She called later that night and said her jacket is warm and comfortable.

I live in Florida, and I have bought dozens of jackets for myself and family from Altrec over the past four years. Each purchase was expeditiously and accurately handled. I love this Windwall jacket! It is lightweight, yet it totally blocks the wind & keeps me warm. The fit is comfortable, and the jacket has some styling to it. Easy to pack for travel. I have bought it as a gift for three other people who all love it, too.

This jacket does a good job of keeping you warm. It cuts the wind. When zippered up the hood hugs your face, so wind can't get through. Jacket runs a little big, but this allows you to wear a sweater or something under it if you want to.

I am short, so the sleeves are a tiny bit too long, but I just fold them in a tad and it works!

Pros: Ease of use, Great value, comfort

Lovely!

Love this jacket with its wonderful flattering fit. great for layering, surprisingly warm for how thin it is.

This jacket is made out of really good material and within seconds of putting it on I was gloriously warm. But - like some other reviewers mentioned - it's really short in the torso with long arms. I didn't mind the arms so much but the short cut in the torso made it look really awkward when worn with my jeans (especially the low rise ones). I should mention that I am short (5'4") and in theory I shouldn't mind a jacket with a short torso - but it's just *really* short. Also it's not really comfortable to wear because of the rigidness of the outside wind-proof layer. I have another Northface fleece jacket that is really soft and comfortable so I thought it would be similar so I guess I was just surprised at the material. Just not for me - your mileage may vary.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: Cost, Bad design

This jacket is warm without the bulkiness, the hood is a great asset. The only thing I would change is the bottom of the sleeve is a little tight. The color plum is beautiful on any skin tone.

Good Jacket

I really like my jacket, it is very comfortable.

Overall great jacket for Spring and wind!

Really love this jacket. The performance in the wind was great, almost totally blocked it out. The nap/fabric is shorter than my other North Face, and I like that difference. Also not as bulky as my other fleece, another plus!! Highly recommend it!!! :)

Great Jacket

The fit is great. Style is classic which will go with most outfits. Fleece is heavyweight durable fleece that will stand up against harsh Ohio wind and extreme temperatures. Highly recommended!

I've always been a NorthFace jacket fan and have worn the Denali in many different colors. I recently purchased the Windwall Fenix 2 for women and absolutely love this jacket. The inside is so warm and cozy and the fit is perfect. I will buy this jacket in another color very soon.

Pros: Ease of use, Great value, Great design

This is my second Windwall 2 jacket. I was bummed when I forgot my last one in a Honduran taxi - so I had to replace it! Warm, comfortable and you can stuff it into a small bag and take it anywhere.

i really like this jacket. it is very comfortable, warm, and soft. the only problem with it is that i feel it is too short. the hood is a good size, along with the arm length, but if the torso was longer it would be perfect.

Great jacket, weird fit
March 28, 2011

i really like this jacket - it's warm and super cute. However, it is true that the fit is a bit weird. For me, the longer-than-normal arms are great, but the shoulders are super tight. I have broad shoulders but don't usually have this problem with other brands. I decided to keep the jacket anyway because it's really so cute and warm.

GREAT JACKET!!!!!

I love the plum color and the close fit of this jacket. When I put it on, the drafts mean nothing. We keep our house cool and it is also nice for outdoor weather around the PNW. I would recommend it for the city and for sports. The only little problem is that the sleeves are close-fitting, so when I want to take it off it is more work to pull my arms out.

Awesome Jacket

I bought this jacket for my daughter and she wears it everywhere. It looks great and keeps her very warm with a thin layer underneath even in Missouri's nasty winter weather we've had this year.

definitely blocks the wind

The first time I wore this jacket the wind was blowing pretty hard and the jacked did a great job of keeping me warm.
