Bag is too good,,, worth it!!!!
My husband gifted me this bag, i love this very much, it's so comfy. when i opened the box, i felt it is too small, but you could carry many stuff, it has lot of room in it. i got a discount, its really worth buying.
I am so happy.....

Awesome!
Really nice bag that not only looks good, but is made well! You can use it everyday for work and carrying your laptop and easily convert it into a great vacationing backpack. It has multiple applications!

Great Backpack!
I got the orange/brown color and I LOVE it. It looks great, feels super sturdy and it sits well on my back. My old backpack ripped open and the zipper ripped off too, I can tell that this backpack is much more durable that my old one. I use it every workday for a 20 minute walk to to/from work - I can fit my my laptop, lunch, and gym clothes/shoes easily.

Great Backpack
I LOVE this backpack. I had another brand, but it had no room and was really heavy even without a laptop in it. This one is much lighter weight yet sturdy and it doesn't hurt my back when carrying it. I love it. Will buy a regular backpack in the same brand.

Fits all
So far, this is one of the best backpacks I have purchased. Fits everything I need and more. The colors are unique and I get plenty of compliments. It's useful for everdsy as well as overnights and never feels too heavy. Great material has held up fine.

Great Product!
This backpack is great! I needed a bigger backpack for school and this was a great size. The laptop sleeve is just what I needed. However, I do wish that the bag was a little bigger, there are 2 big pockets and a little one, but if that suits you, this is a great buy. The quality of this backpack is great, and I'm sure I'll be using it for many years to come!

lugging books
I had the older version of this bag (from about 8 years ago), but the padding was no longer effective. It was a great bag, I took it all over the world for ski trips, mountain climbing, horseback trips. Now I'm in law school, and I needed a bag that could safely and comfortably hold a LOT of books and a laptop, pens and little things. I am very pleased with the padding and straps on this new version of Yavapai--it makes carrying the load much easier and less painful. All the storage pockets are handy and well-placed.
However, the fabric is a lot thinner and cheaper-feeling than the older version. Maybe it makes it more lightweight? Maybe it's a new fancy type of waterpoof fabric? Also, the "black" is not black as described, it's a charcoal grey color.
Solid backpack.

Above Average rating
Overall quality of backpack was above average. Light and easy to carry. However, after only one week of using it, the backpack broke. Altrec's customer service was exceptional and the backpack was replaced immediately. Had the backpack not broken (most likely a defect), I would have rated product as great.

Fantabulous Backpack!!
I use this bag for school and for outside adventures. I currently have 5-6 1" binders and a small book in the backpack. I also just got back from Denver when I went back country downhill skiing. The bag worked great! I would highly recommend it! I have zero complaints...

Yavapai is Great!
I use it both for classes and when I'm out snowshoeing as a daypack, and it's perfect for both. I'll be using it in Glacier national park this March for some late season Cross Country skiing and snowshoeing in Wilderness area. It's tough, roomy enough for my gear needs, and I'll definitely eventually replace it with another Yavapai.

Exceeds expectations
The North Face Yavapai backpack has exceeded my expectations. Returning to graduate school, I needed a durable laptop backpack for my Sony Vaio FW series laptop. The laptop, in its Sony Vaio neoprene sleeve, fits snugly in the Yavapai. The Yavapai has many wonderful features as described and appears to be of solid construction. The backpack fits my petite frame comfortably. This is my first North Face product and I expect it will last well past grad school.

solid little bag
What you would expect from North Face, well built comfortable and it looks good too. I got this for my second go around at school. I needed a book bag that I could also use as a day pack when I was done. So far it has stood up well to the load of books needed for my 2nd degree...can't wait to retire it to the trails!

Best backpack ever.
I've used this bag aggressively for 5 and a half years. It is by far the best bag and I only wish they didn't stick that ugly triangle on the front pocket. I am starting to consider replacing it (with another Yavapai, of course) because, after more than 5 continuous years of use (summers and travel included), it is just starting to show its age. However, I believe it could last several more years at the rate I've been going.

This backpack works great for school, it carries all my books and even my laptop! The price was right too! The straps make carrying a heavy load easy, definitely worthy of buying.

Functional bag.

Great lightweight trekking
Great for lightweight short hikes or trail rides. Go with a camelbak for trail running as this is too large and jumps around a lot.
