A proven classic for adults who ski, snowboard and backpack, the waterproof and breathable Youth Mountain is scaled-down outerwear with most of the same features and all of the functionality. The jacket is Zip-in compatible, which means that you can zip it into other shell garments made by The North Face. Down around the Velcro® cuff adjustments are glove loops that can keep gauntlets, gloves and other hand protection from tumbling from the highest chairlift and landing on the steepest face of any mountain. An internal powder skirt minimizes snow and moisture penetration along the hem. Zip it in to the warm fleece Youth Denali Jacket or a 600+ down fill Nuptse Jacket and you'll have a complete winter ensemble for any kid who likes to play rough.

The North Face is a very hot brand among teens in NYC this year. I purchased the all black youth mountain jacket in boys ex-large for my 16 year old daughter( 5'3", 110lbs). Kids sizes are much cheaper than the same style adult version and this purchase was a perfect fit. This is not a flimsy waterproof shell. The fabric is substantial and has a nice feel. The workmanship is first rate and there is a second inner zipper to attach an underlayer for cold weather. Although the shipping was free, the package arrived quickly. I am very pleased with this jacket and the service from Altrec.

It is an awesome jacket. I wear it all the time and I got it at a good price. I am 22, but purchased to kid's jacket because it's a lot cheaper. The delivery was fast too. I got the jacket in less than a week.
