Essential Piece of Gear
April 28, 2011
It's very light, but the only 'problem' with this pad is it's pretty bulky, but that's not really an issue for me since I put it outside my pack. The pad was also very durable, because it's still maintaining it's shape even though I dropped my pack a lot of times, and the pad hits tree branches, etc during the hike, but it's still looking good. Overall, I'm very pleased with the performance of this pad and would recommend this to everybody who doesn't mind the 'bulkiness'

Great pad
February 06, 2011
I was skeptical about the R value being higher with this model but it appears to be true. Very comfortable pad, light and packs well. My only issue is I should have gotten a large, am 6' and would have liked the additional length.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueAlready own the Thermarest RidgeRest Solar Sleeping Pad? Tell us your thoughts.
Great Winter Pad, Not Very Packable
February 01, 2013
I really like this relatively inexpensive pad as an option for winter car camping. It's quite comfortable for a closed cell foam pad. Maybe I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but the ridge pattern does seem to offer quite a bit in terms of comfort over traditional closed cell pads. It works well to bump up the R-value of my lighter-weight backpacking pad when they're paired together. However, this pad is big I wouldn't want to have to pack it anywhere. If you need lightweight and compressible, this is probably not the pad for you.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: large, relatively heavy, not compressibleThermarest RidgeRest Solar Sleeping Pad Photo
