Timberland Pro Hiker
August 24, 2011

I have had many different styles of Timberland Pro steel toe boots over the years. This is the first one that I was disappointed in. It fits true to size (I'm Mens sz 9) and is comfortable right out of the box, but that is where the pro's end. The con's are that the laces are very squeeky- I even tried laces of different materials, leather, nylon...the good news is that the squeeking slowly began to quiet down...the bad news is it was because the fabric eyelets began to break. Over the next couple months, most of them broke and the boots became pretty much worthless -about six months after I bought them! Thanks to Altrec's return policy, I had no worries. Full refund back to my credit card!

Pros: comfortable, Cons: Wears quickly, Poor quality

Loudest Boots Ever!
November 13, 2010

This shoe makes so much noise. If you plan on being quiet, do not buy these boots. I've tried everything from changing the laces to loosening how tight I tie them. Nothing seems to work! Otherwise, not bad quality and pretty comfortable!

Pros: Great design, Great value, Cons: Bad design, very noisy

Very Uncomfortable
December 05, 2010

One of the most uncomfortable boots I ever wore. Before the day was over my legs and feet were killing me. I like Timberland Pro boots, but these were not for me.

Very tough
October 22, 2009

Very tough boot, also very light for a steel toe. Boots are very comfortable for standing on ladders for extended periods of time & have good traction.

very comfortable
March 07, 2010

I work standing and walking on concrete all day and these boots are very comfortable for this kind of work.

Stylish and sturdy
August 18, 2010

I really like the boots. I bought them mainly as work boots but they are so comfortable I will be trying them out for actual hiking soon. There is plenty of room and the steel toe does not cut into my foot as other boots I have did. The one downfall is that the leather is very squeaky. These shoes are not made for spies or anyone who needs to be stealthy.

TIMBERLAND PRO Expertise Hiker SteelToe Work Boots
November 24, 2012

Love these work boots, comfortable steel toe, fit right out of the box was great, still wearing my first pair for work after 3+ years on an oil truck & doing steel work, DURABLE, I also have another pair for casual wear, I DID have an issue with one of the eyelet loops on one pair coming apart, but was a quick fix with GORILLA GLUE & small needle nose vice grips to press for a seal, good as new...laces tend to be a little long, but again, like the boot, DURABLE. These things have taken a beating and the integrity of the boot is still A1...steel support in the insole in awesome, I climb ladders all day up & down the back of my tanker-the steel supports keep the sole from buckling under the pressure on my 275 lbs...oil resistant sole is invaluable if you work in an oily environment...it works as advertised. GREAT BOOT....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I like these so much, I have 2 new pair in the closet for back-ups...IF I CAN EVER WEAR THE FIRST PAIR OUT. Seems to be water resistant as well. The protective covering on the toe is practically indestructable. Did I say I love this boot. GREAT VALUE & ALTREC Customer service is tops!!!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, can take a beating, tough but comfortable

doesn't hold up to hard work
November 26, 2010

As a devoted timberland pro buyer, I've had many styles. This model lasted me about 2 months, not nearly enough for the price. Several of the canvas "eyelaps" which hold the laces on the boot broke making the boot useless. Still a comfortable boot, but useless if I can't tie them.

Cons: Wears quickly, Bad design, Poor quality

Best Boots; Best Price

Altrec shipping got them to me when I needed them. Boots are good quality and hold up well to extremely rugged volcanic environment I am in. Weight is good. Protection is excellent.
