great boot
February 09, 2012
This is the second one of these boots I have purchased and have been happier with this boot than most boots of the past. As a land surveyor, I have gone through alot of footwear over the years. I like this boot due to the light weight, durability, and the waterproof aspect. I intend to keep purchasing this product.
Great boots at a great price
March 10, 2011
I am looking forward to wearing these boots the rest of this winter and many winters to come. They are comfortable, I am breaking them in pretty quickly, and most of all, they look great. I've gotten lots of compliments already. I look forward to using them as I hike on different terrains and trails, and when future winters bring lots of snow.

I love this boot; very comfortable and lightweight; also glad they are waterproof.
A Great Buy
February 04, 2010
My current hiking boot from Sears was worn out. This is my first Timberland boot and it looks good and very comfortable. I received it 3 days after ordering from Altrec, very good service.
Great winter shoe
October 25, 2010
bought this shoe for the cold winters in alaska, its great for day to day use, i can take the dogs for a walk and not have to worry about my feet getting wet or cold thanks to the amazing leather they are made out of. i would recommend these shoes to anyone who has to deal with cold wet conditions.

Boots
January 16, 2012
Nice, comfortable, true to size and lightweight. As a letter carrier ( on feet 9-11 hrs a day) all the above very important. I've returned more boots than I've kept, these are keepers!

Good Boot
April 10, 2010
Good boot, very comfortable. I work in construction and I wear them every day.
Very good boot with some shortcomings
December 05, 2009
Insole included is thin and uncomfortable, most will want to replace it, but it is understandable why Timberland doesn't spend more to provide a better one. Insoles are critical to fit and comfort and need to be selected by the wearer. Flume is a well made, sturdy boot. I don't need waterproof, but need a gusseted tongue for sand. I can't say if it's waterproof, but it definitely doesn't breathe well. A heavier sock will help absorb perspiration, so order size accordingly. With a replacement insole, it is very comfortable right out of the box. A very good value. altrec.com did a great job getting the boot to me quickly.

Excellent Boot
May 25, 2011
Highly recommended for all environments. These boots are comfortable, durable, and they look great. I have used for hiking and feels great. I have used for walk in the city for three days and produced no soreness. I have used in rainy days and works well.
Pros: laces are goodgood for the price
January 22, 2013
This is my second pair of Timberlands. My last ones were similar to these, and lasted almost 3 years before the soles fell off. Im not really impressed by the quality of the boot. They have sort of a cheap look/feel to them. My biggest complaint is the tongue is made of some type of rubber/plastic and squeaks while walking. Hopefully this will stop after they break in better. Overall, they are decent, comfortable boots if you are on a budget. I will probably try another brand next time.
Pros: cheap, comfortable, Cons: tongue squeaks, cheap looking, lacesgood buy
February 20, 2010
I returned my timberland flumes because I had received my timberland Mt Washington summit mid hikers dark gray boots which is a hundred step above. Those of you reviewing this are unable to find the Washington summits in dark gray because altrec sold out of them quickly. For a cheap alternative the flumes are a good buy
ran a little small

Ran a little small
January 27, 2011
The first time wearing these shoes, I wore all day hunting and walking in hill country. Was very satisfied. Had no problems. Was worn with heavy socks. Great pair of shoes. The downside to this shoe, is the mud and dirt (red clay) is difficult to clean. (Traction!) This is a great value.
Pros: Performance, Great value, Cons: flat shoe stringsGood Choice for Boots!
January 13, 2013
I bought these shoes for my son. Altrec upgraded the shipping so he could have them in time for his outdoor foray into the wilderness of Flagstaff. He said when he initially put them on they felt a little snug, but after about an hour they were super comfortable and fit like a glove. He wears them everywhere now -- hiking Arizona or crossing campus. Great boots! Highly recommended!
real nice
April 30, 2011
I ware these for every day use. They are a real nice boot. Light weight and comfortable. The multi-directional rubber lug outsole gives you traction on slippery surfaces. The padded tongue provides plenty of cushioning, plus they're waterproof so you don't have to worry about getting cold and wet.

great customer service
March 18, 2010
The boots looked great when they arrived, but they must have been defective, I have to send them back because they are already ripping after wearing them one day. I am going to continue to shop altrec for their customer service was very friendly and helpful. I also know timberland doesn't make a bad boot, so they will get another chance as well.
Great boots
February 17, 2012
These boots are braking in quickly and sized well for for wide feet. Too bad there are not many wide sizes available on your site. The 9 wide fit like a Meidl 43 Euro, which is a perfect size for my foot. I had good advice from customer service when I called for help on sizing. I look forward to many miles with these boots.

Best Boot Ever Worn
November 28, 2010
I need wides and this boot is the only boot I'll ever wear for work. I have to wear them everyday and they have been the most comfortable all day long to wear! As they are light in weight unlike others I have tried. I'm probably going to purchase another pair or two to have for the future as I worry whether or not they'll still be available in a year or so!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueJanuary 24, 2012
I was very impressed how comfortable they were right out of the box. I am a delivery driver needed something that was comfortable and waterproof. The boots have been in all day rain and slush, my feet have stayed dry! Very easy to lace up and seem to be well made. Had them for a month, hopefully they will hold up. Bought half size larger than what i usually wear so i could wear heavier socks if need be, and that worked out well too.

My last timberland boots lasted for more than 3 years. They help reach Costa Rica's highest peak, Chirrip. I also used them for work, great shoes... maybe not as waterproof as they mention them but still very strong.

Just got mine in about 4 days ago and I must say, WOW!! I've been wearing them on a daily basis and I love them! Haven't been offroad hiking in them yet but they are great for walking around the city and other urban settings. This is my first pair of Timberlands but definately not my last!
Pros: very confortable, very little break in timeGreat Boots
December 01, 2011
Got these to replace my Columbia hiking boots that my dog chewed up. I like them even more. I got them for a great price, they are very comfortable with an excellent design. Also, my Columbia boots weren't waterproof while these are, which is a big plus in Michigan.
Pros: comfortable, waterproof, inexpensiveOne of the best
December 28, 2009
I had similar Timberland brand boots. I used them for 3 years. That's why I purchased another pair. They are comfortable, durable and stylish.
February 14, 2012
My son loved the boots, is wearing them all the time and they came really fast. Very positive ordering experience. He was looking for a pair of boots he could wear as shoes as well as for weather. These fit that bill.

Good value
March 21, 2011
I replaced a pair of Cat workboots and found these boots to be much lighter and more comfortable. They also provide much better traction on snow/ice. They look darker from the photos, but that's probably due to the newly oiled leather and I expect they will lighten up with use. Overall great boots and a great price.

Good boot
October 31, 2010
The leather on the upper portion of the boot seems to break too easily and, moreover, not where your toes flex, but both under and over that line. This means that they cause blisters and have hurt my toes a lot before they finally "settled". This is the major objection I have about this product.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: Low performanceDid you recently buy the Timberland Flume Waterproof Mid Hiking Boot? Write a review.
Perfect for a Student
December 26, 2010
I'm a student at a large Ohio university and don't have a car on campus. Every day, snow, rain, or shine, I have to walk to multiple classes across a large campus. My feet were always either cold or wet, so I needed comfortable, warm, and waterproof boots that were insulated enough to keep my feet warm and dry outside, but not too hot inside in classrooms. I received these boots as a gift: they suit my need perfectly, and I think they are sharp looking. I have had "Tims" in the past and they lasted a long time, so I expect these will give me years of wear, as well. The sizing seems to be exactly what I expected (not too small or large for the 11.5). I would recommend these boots to anyone who is outdoors a lot and needs waterproof footwear with good support.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, attractive designDid you recently buy the Timberland Flume Waterproof Mid Hiking Boot? Write a review.
Poor Quality
May 25, 2012
Purchased about 2 months ago and used primarily for light duty receiving dock work. They are light and relatively comfortable right out of the box. Fit is true to size. Cushioning is a little thin but easily fixed with a quality aftermarket insole. About 6 weeks after purchase I had the opportunity to do do some early morning hiking and found that even light dew on the grass was enough the drench my right foot. Left foot stayed dry. Closer inspection revealed that the sole/binding seems to be separating from the leather. That's less than 2 months of light duty. Poor quality.
Great boot, great value.
December 23, 2009
I use these boots at work. I walk on concrete all day and these boots feel great all day. I am very happy so far.
October 19, 2010
like the boots alot but the laces on them are to thin and a little cheesy.haven't hiked in them yet so I'll have to get back to ya.

Great Boot ( too small )
January 06, 2010
This boot ran about a half size small. I am a true 10 1/2 but this boot was tight on my feet. Had to return. Quality of boot looked great, just too small. Did not have an 11 in this boot so I ordered a different boot.
