netting material on tongue
I've recently owned two similar models of the Timberland Hiking boot, but I'm sending this pair back. They're probably a great boot for some terrains, but for bird hunting, and for stickery, foxtail terrain like ours, the net-like material on the tongue is a sticker magnet - a real disaster. I think I'll go back to the chocorua trail boot, (which also has a gore tex membrane) but doesn't have that awful netting material.

Not quite as pictured
Very comfortable and stitching quality is very good. Where I have some concern is the upper hooks for the laces. The hooks on the boots that I received are not as beefy as those pictured. I have had boots w/ hooks which appear similar to those on these boots (that is boots received, not the boots pictured) in which the hooks bent open under the strain of pulling the laces tight or bent down after being banged against a rock. Maybe they'll be OK but I rated durability as average out of concern and past experience w/ similar hooks.

Excellent Boot
I purshased this boot in Feb, 2010. Priminary use it for walking my beloved golden retriver in the trial and out in the open field. The first time I use it is well during the winter east coast snow storm and it really keep my feet warm and dry and it fit perfectly without and break in period. Even during the raining season it stiil keep my feet dry after a 4-5 miles hike in the rain. During the summer I went to the Canadian Rockey and it went throught all kind of terrian wet, dry, rock and ice and it response very well and comfortable even after a long hike up and down the mountain triall. I went through several boots of different brand name and this this is the best boot ever own. Would recommend to anyone looking for a durable and comfortable waterproof hiking boot. Altrec also have the best selection of sizes which I couldn't find in the local store and great customer service the best of all is good price and free shipping.

Great all-around boot
Great fit and style. After purchasing a more expensive hiking boot from another company,I was not pleased with the narrow fit.I choose to purchase the Timberland Plymouth Gore-Tex Hiking boot. Very pleased with the comfortable fit.Wish I had chosen the Plymouth the first time around!

I have several Timberland boots they are a design that fit my feet perfect. I have tried on several manufactures and non fit comfortable. The Plymouth is the most comportable of all, right out of the box . I reccommend this boot. AlTREC had the best price of all the stores I have searched.

Definitely buy these boots
This is an outstanding boot. Perfect fit for a hard-to-find 7.5 size. Great arch and heel support and perfect toe room. I have paid much more for boots that were no where near as comfortable. The Gore-Tex vents make these boots great for all-day wear. Altrec rocks! Super service!

Good lightweight boot
I was looking for a lightweight boot that was waterproof/gortex. This one works at the right price. This boot has laces that come down pretty far with 6 eyelets. This helps fit my low-volume foot. I guessed this would work by the picture, and it did when the boot arrived. I think the mix of fabric and leather actually helps the fit of the boot. Have tried in the snow and around town, but not on the trail yet. I think it will work out well there as well. The size matched well with another worn out boot that I was replacing. Old boot's 11 and new boot's 11 were about the same.
