Ver-r-r-ry nice boots
October 26, 2010
I was looking for a substantial but comfortable waterproof winter boot that would work on the trails, in the barn and for casual weekends: these are perfect. They provide great ankle/foot support and stability, which is important to me, yet have a nice rugged look about them. They are as comfortable as my better shoes, which is really saying something for a boot. Although sturdy they are not overly heavy, and I like that they're made with Gore-Tex. Excellent quality overall, nice color choices, very much worth the price.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Boots for comfort and a great price!
August 13, 2010
I love these boots! I wanted a comfortable boot that laced up and this is it. I do a lot of walking trails and hiking and these boots are great for that kind of stuff. They seem to fit true to size, just bigger than the normal fit for tennis shoes. Thanks Altrec.com!

I love these boots...they are very comfortable and cute too. My daughter had an older pair and we both wore them, I thought I should get my own.
2nd pair in 10 years
January 05, 2011
I love these boots. My first pair lasted forever and I expect this pair to do the same. No pinching in the toe area as there is lots of room for wool socks. Great arch support and traction yet not so heavy that you're reminded you're wearing hiking boots. Fit is spot on and comfortable right out of the box. The only minor complaint I have is that the "tongue" part of the boot is shorter than on older versions. It's still comfortable to lace up as loose or tightly as you like though. I use these for hiking and for getting around in winter snow and ice. EXCELLENT service by the way!Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Great value, lightweight, great arch support
Great product at a great price!

These boots look good, feel good. They are durable. I am enjoying them very much.
Light in weight and warm boot

Good looking and warm.

I tried on ~9 pairs of boots locally, but I have a wide small foot. The sales clerk had me try men's boots but they were always too long. Well, I ordered these boots, and they were perfect! Especially considering that before they arrived from Altrec, I badly twisted my ankle. Well, after "RICE"ing my ankle, I tried on these on and walked out the door, down the street and through the park. My feet were very comfortable and my ankle perfectly stable. It's been a very long time since I've had really comfortable boots. I'm really looking forward to my next backpacking trip!

I bought the shoes because I needed winter shoes for Wisconsin. I got these rather than the knee-high fur boots that young women tend to wear because I wanted to use the shoes for a lot of walking too. The walking has been great. I am new to the winters here and I am rather afraid of falling on ice. These are not built for walking on ice but they do offer good resistance against falling because the soles are heavy. I had good balance; but it is possible to fall if too fast on icy ground or careless. They are perfectly water-proof. I walked through a lot of snow. One thing I do not appreciate is that the shoes top gets scratched a lot and the scratches show. They do look a bit like men's but I'd rather have the comfort than just style. I am an 8.5 and I got 9 size. There is quite a bit of room which needed some getting used to but I found out, the room is good for such sturdy shoes. My feet feel comfortable, cozy and surrounded by soft lining, despite the sturdiness. A great buy. I'm happy.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value, Cons: scratches

My wife is an avid hiker and a bit skeptical about wearing boots without breaking them in. She didn't have time for that so right out of the box and onto the trails. She was thrilled with this Timberland boot. I think I'll get a pair for my daughter also.
Inca Trail test run
January 06, 2010
I bought these for hiking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu in the middle of the rainy season. They not only met my expectations with comfort (no blisters) but exceeded it with the sudden rain-sleet-hailstorms and constant humidity in the air. They stayed dry the entire time. They grip the rocky trail well, but watch out for smooth cobblestone (Cusco). I only recommend using crew or boot socks to maintain maximum comfort.
great hiking boots

got these for my girlfriend. moving to thailand and needed something durable, waterproof, comfortable. she loves them! she's only been there a week but they required no breaking in and she's hit the trails several times. they grip the uneven terrain and keep her feet dry. sweet! she loves them so much, i'm getting a pair for myself. and as far as the scuffing goes that one user mentioned, i like my gear to look like i use it so that's a non issue for me. ;-) great boots!Pros: great price, didn't need to break them in, definitely waterproof, Cons: haven't found one yet
WONDERFUL WOMENS CHOCORUA TRAIL HIKING BOOT
January 31, 2011
I LOOKED AT ALL THE REVIEWS AND THEY SAID BOOT RAN BIG- I WEAR 8 1/2 IN DRESS SHOES AND 9 IN ATHLETIC -ATHLETIC ALWAYS RUNS SMALLER. I FELT GETTING A 9 WOULD BE SAFE BUT NO THIS SHOE ACTUALLY RUNS SMALL IN LENGTH. I ENDED UP WITH 9 1/2-I HAVE A VERY WIDE FOOT-THIS SHOE FIT ME WONDERFULLY- NO STRETCHING NEEDED-IF YOU HAVE A NARROW FOOT- YOU WILL HAVE TO DOUBLE UP ON SOCKS. THIS SHOE IS VERY REASONABLE IN PRICE- VERY COMFORTABLE- I DO NOT FEEL ITS HOT-BREATHES WELL- I FEEL I HAVE THE SUPPORT I NEEDED- IF I FEEL I NEED MORE ,BOOT HAS REMOVABLE LINER THAT I CAN REPLACE WITH A OTC INSERT OR IF YOU HAVE A CUSTOM ORTHOTIC IT WOULD FIT WELL. LOOKING FORWARD TO MANY MILES- I AM GETTING A PAIR FOR MY HUSBAND IN THE MENS VERSIONPros: Great design, Great value
Great Pair Of Boots
June 03, 2009
This is a great pair of boots. They are very comfortable from the start, did not even have to break them in. Went on an 8 mile hike just after purchase and my feet were not sore or wet.
All day comfort for the right price.

Timberland Women's Chochorua Trail Hiking Boot is so comfortable, fits like a hand in a glove. I utilized these boots during a 6 week camp at the Ozarks, and this product went beyond the call of duty. It performed well during hikes over rugged terrain, rivers and even swamps. The GORE-TEX material enabled for faster drying so you don't have to worry about wearing wet boots the next day. The weight of these boots are light enough for all day walking, that you barely know that theyre there. This is the second pair of Timberland boots That I have the pleasure to own. I highly recommend this product to anyone even for everyday use.
Very warm, waterproof hiking boots
January 07, 2010
True to size. Very Comfortable.
October 07, 2011
I like to walk with my dog, so I wanted a comfy boot with good support. This is almost as good as it gets, but for me it was just a tad roomy in the forefoot area. The heel didn't slip, it appeared to have good traction, I liked the looks and the quality seemed really great for a boot at this price. I only returned it because I wanted the boot to be just a little tighter without the need on doubling up on socks.Pros: comfortable light nice looking, Cons: a little big in the toe box area for me
Waterproof and comfort
June 05, 2010
Waterproof and great for walking. True to size.
seems to be a good boot
December 26, 2009
I bought this boot wanting a comfortable hiking/walking boot that I could also use in inclimate weather. So far, so good. I ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear for a lot of the times an 8 doesn't fit. They're really comfortable with a heavy pair of socks (it's winter) . I think they'll also be ok with light socks for warm season use. I haven't had a chance to test the waterproofness yet for it hasn't rained. I'm hoping they're good in rain. Seeing I haven't tested them out on everything yet I gave them 4 stars. I'm happy with my purchase, though. They seem to be a good inexpensive boot.
Very comfortable boot
January 07, 2010
Good fit and excellent traction on snow.
Couldn't imagine better!
March 09, 2010
These boots are light, warm and true to size. No problem in the snow. We live in Germany and they arrived within a week.
Great Pair of Boots
December 18, 2009
Warm, Dry Boots. Very Durable. Great price for a great product
January 01, 2012
Great fit, boots run about a half size small just like the other reviews stated. Ordered a size 8.5 and normally wear a size 8. The boots have kept my feet dry and warm on fall /early winter hikes.
these boots scratch very easily.
March 05, 2011
these boots scratch very easily i am surprised because they are timberlands. the last pair of timberlands i bought lasted 14 years. I do not know why the boots are already scratched and i just bought them.
March 06, 2010
This boot is so comfortable that I did not have to "break it in". Looks and feels terrific, light weight, and gets this 57-year-old body back on the trails!
Just what I wanted
October 01, 2010
These boots fit just right and they have kept my feet comfortable and dry in some bad weather. I have not had them long enough to comment on durability, but they seem sturdy.Pros: Great value, Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
April 24, 2011
I love these boots! They're sturdy and supportive but also comfortable and lightweight. My hips get sore if I hike in heavy boots, but these haven't given me a single problem. I'm usually an 8.5-9 so I ordered a 9 to leave room for hiking socks and they fit perfectly. My feet tend to be on the wide side but I went with a regular width since I was ordering up and they have plenty of room- if you're on the edge like me I would recommend a regular width. Another reviewer said they scratch up too easily- true, the polish gets scuffed off pretty quickly, but if your boots aren't dinged up you're doing it wrong! I haven't tried it yet but some quality time with a rag and some brown shoe polish would probably give them their shine back. Highly recommended.

I got these boots for a family camping trip to the Yellowstone that spanned three generations--me (the great aunt and resident geezer), my nephew, his sister my niece and her two children a great niece and great nephew each complete with one friend along for company. Great Auntie hadn't been in serious hiking boots since she was in her mid twenties and worked for the Girl Scouts--forty years ago. I needed W-I-D-E boots. When I googled wide women's boots, up you popped. These more than filled the bill. They were comfortable from the get-go and gave me plenty of support during the week we were in the park. Believe it or not, I will be able to use them at work, since I work for the Red Cross and we go out after tornadoes, floods, fires, etc. to do disaster assessments, and they will be perfect for that.
Eyelet Broke on the second day
January 20, 2010
I was not very happy with the quality of these boots - they appeared sturdy and were warm, but on the second day I wore them an eyelet broke - so I was unable to lace them correctly and had to return them
Great for wide feet!
October 01, 2009
The wide version of this boot is great if you have especially wide feet- finally a boot that fits!
superb comfort and support
January 25, 2010
I have never had a more comfortable walking shoe! Of course, I added my own orthodics that I usually wear in all my shoes; even so, the fit of this particular shoe is still far above any other.
