Description

Whether you're looking for a lightweight, highly water resistant day hiking boot for the trail or just something rugged and dependable that you can wear around the backyard for general utility work and play, Timberland's White Ledge Waterproof Mid Hiking Boot for women is a step up from ordinary sneakers and boots--with the benefits associated with both types of footwear. Beneath the Women's White Ledge Waterproof Mid Hiking Boot is Timberland's B.S.F.P.™ active lug outsole. This acronym stands for "Braking, Supporting, Flexing and Propelling." What it all means is that Timberland aligned the sole lugs to optimize support, traction and ergonomic flex, so you enjoy increased comfort and agility compared to most general boot designs. One more important note: If you read Timberland's customer reviews, you might find a few people taking issue with the word waterproof in the White Ledge product name. While the boot's seam-sealed construction is ideal for hiking through dew-kissed meadows or camping in the rain, like the waterproof light hiking boots made by other companies, Timberland's White Ledge not a perfect choice for sloshing around in water deep enough to seep into the tongue gussets. If you prefer wet outdoor weather in moderation, you'll be satisfied with the comfort, traction and stability offered by the White Ledge Waterproof Mid Hiking Boot for women.

Specifications

  • Waterproof full-grain leather upper
  • Moisture-wicking textile lining
  • Seam-sealed construction

Great boots!
December 15, 2012

The first time I wore these boots it was on the way to Half Dome in Yosemite, and they treated me well throughout the hike! They're a steal and perfect for day hikes.

Pros: light, comfortable, waterproof

Comfortable and waterproof

great in snow and rain
March 15, 2011

my husband and I both have the timberland whiteledge boots. the boots are warm and water proof. I work on a school bus for a parkville missouri school bus co. The lot is very bad, full of rocks and uneven gravel, it is very dangerous to walk on. The whiteledge is a marvel and can take the nasty lot on and win. There is little breask in and all I had to do was take them to a shoe store fiiend who stretched the "pinki toe" area for and me and the boots are perfect! We have not gone hicking yet, for for now the dangerous school bus lot is dangerous enough.

Pros: protective, warm

comfy & dry

well made; light weight; true to size (7W); very comfortable; really enjoying the DRY socks in all this snow and ice. Wear them everyday (even to work due to parking lot snow & ice).

Perfect!
May 28, 2011

My old Timberlands lasted for many years but had to be retired. I needed good hiking boots for an up-coming trip. These were comfortable right away, needed no breaking in. They are true to size and have a good arch support. I have a hard time finding my size and am never sure how things will feel. I am so excited because I know they will last a long time! I'm sure I will love these boots as much as the old pair!

Pros: true to size, well made

Great hiking boot.

These boots don't need to be broken in before major hike. Did Mount Fuji with them and had no problems with them. They give good support for your ankle.

very nice boots
February 20, 2012

Ordered the boots early for a hiking trip so I could get used to them. Other reviewers have said boots are true to size, I agree but, manufacturer made them just big enough to need a pair of nice thick boot socks. Boots fit a bit loose in regular socks but, with thick boot socks they are perfect. And if you are walking/hiking all day you need a good pair of boot socks anyway. Boots were comfortable for me out of the box, only issue was a fold of tounge material that wanted to annoy the top of my foot. Just pushing the little pucker up with my finger so the fold was between the laces and then tightenting the laces solved the problem. After wearing 2 times the pucker stays where it should. Best internet shoe buying experience ever! I could have gone on a major hike the first day with no problem.

Best Boots EVER!
July 25, 2011

I purchased these boots with intention to use them both for general hiking and for use in the field (I'm an archaeologist), and I have found them to be excellent! They are certainly waterproof (as I discovered after surveying a recently flooded area), fit very well (I normally wear either a size 8 or 8.5) but have a bit of room so that come winter a pair of wool socks wont make them too tight, and boy are they great for hiking! I took them on a test run on a 2.5 mile hike through a very rocky glade, and they passed with flying colors. They are very supportive, especially considering that I have a high arch and narrow feet, and grip well on the soles. On top of all of that, they're very comfortable. They break in quick, too. Here's to hoping they last forever; if not, I'm getting another pair of these! Thanks for being so awesome, Altrec!

Pros: supportive, fit well, good for rocky areas, waterproof

Great spring/summer hiking boot
April 02, 2011

Great boot. A little stiff at first but broke in very quickly. Not a winter boot so toes get a little cold without heavy socks. Lightweight. Overall a great spring/summer hiking boot.

Great price, very comfortabe

Gander Mountain had these same boots for $100 and I bought these got $68.95- free shipping. The sizes are right on. If you're normally a size 8 then order that size.

Very pleased

surprisingly lightweight, flexible and affordable. While there are a lot of rank good hiking boots from Timberland, this receives 5-star for value (lower price).

Just moved to Michigan from Florida and preparing for winter snow. These are great shoes! Well made and constructed, very comfortable. Shoes are sturdy! Easy to get on and very easy to move around. Looking forward to the winter months ahead! Feel prepared for my first snow!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value

Extremely Pleased
February 27, 2010

I was very apprehensive about buying online as i have Wide feet..and most sites do not use the "Wide", or "Narrow" sizing. Within 8 days I received my boots and I LOVE them. There is no breaking these in, they were very comfotable from day one !! I can wear them when it snows...or when I just spend the day walking in them. I would suggest these boots to ALL my friends..!!

great comfortable affordable boot!
March 03, 2010

I had an extremely hard time finding a boot with enough ankle support and adequate room in the toe for bulky hiking socks, but these completely fit the bill. They are extremely comfortable and I wore them walking around the city in a downpour and didn't get any dampness inside at all. Can't wait to take them backpacking!

good quality shoe
July 24, 2010

I bought these boots for working outdoors for my job, and they seem to be working well so far. At first, the tongue was a bit bunchy on the top of my foot, but if I don't tie them so tight, then it's fine. I will use them for some light hiking, eventually. Overall, they are comfortable, especially when working out in the heat, and worth the price I paid for them.

Comfy boots!
October 18, 2010

I usually don't purchase footwear online, but took the plunge and couldn't be happier. The boots were comfortable from the moment I put them on and required little to no 'break in' time. They are sturdy yet flexible, definitely waterproof, with cushion enough to be comfortable for long periods of time. I bought the whole size bigger than I usually wear (I am an 8 1/2 but ordered a 9) and it worked great with a thicker hiking sock. I have bad ankles and these boots are rigid enough to provide the support I require without being uncomfortable. They are attractive and for the average hiker, I believe the price cannot be beat!

Pros: Great design, Great value

February 21, 2012

I wear these boots to work everyday when the temperature is above 30. I drive truck and go to mines where it can be wet and muddy they hold up great. I buy them a half size bigger so i can wear my Thorlo hiking socks the extra cushion is really nice.

Pros: lightweight, waterproof, well made, Cons: cushioning, not breathable

Greatest Purchase I've made online
June 27, 2010

These boots are the best boots I have ever purchased online. I was thrilled when I first put them on because nothing pinched, chafed, or hurt my feet and they were so comfortable (and good looking!) I did wear them for a week before I went camping and hiking just to make sure there weren't any problems and I haven't had any. I did buy them wide for the purpose of winter use and heavy socks. I am thrilled with these boots!

So glad this boot is still available. Perfect fit right out of the box and super durable. I like these so much that my wife got herself a pair also and she loves them. My first pair lasted 5 years and I intend to buy a spare pair in case they are discontinued. Altrec has the best price and service anywhere!
