just got this bag - it is fabulous - really well-made with nifty features
the only thing is . . . i ordered the bag in hunter - the picture looks like the bag is black with hunter accents in the pocket gussets - it is actually solid hunter with black accents on the front and side pockets and thye back pocket -

Over 5 years of use, and this bag is still as great as the day I bought it. Use it for a daily commute, but it is also really great when traveling. Great laptop protection while maintaining lots of space for accessories, papers, etc., and the hip straps take weight off of shoulders for longer treks. Several friends have liked mine so much that they bought their own.

I am a student and I was looking for something that would carry all my books and laptop. I chose the Trager Courier Laptop and it has done nothing to make me regret it. It is truly a great bag that carries everything I need in a way that is both organized and in a comfortable manner. The protection for my laptop is two-fold; the bag itself (which does plenty) and then the included laptop carrier. A great bag for someone on the go who needs to carry a lot with them.

i've never written a review on anything before but was compelled to do so today. after using my bag for over a year every single day in new york city and abroad, the plastic clips that secure the flap broke. this only happened from being exposed to -24 degree fahrenheit weather. when i contacted the company with this dilemma, the new clips arrives (free of charge) in about 3 days (seatle to nyc).
i love being able to carry a laptop around the subways and nobody would know it's inside. on that note: as a photographer i often empty out the inside and put a camera body and a few lenses inside when shooting in the streets. it's able to take the excess weight while being a camouflaged camera bag.
besides the excellent service provided, i love the shoulder padding, the cell phone pocket on the exterior, all the pockets and partitions on the interior as well as the overall design and quality of this product. i'm psyched to have it back up and running again. thanks trager

I have carried laptops for over five years. I usually buy a different computer bag about once a year because I never found the bag that did what I wanted it to do, while not screaming "I'm a laptop bag, please steal me!".
Someone told me about Trager and once I researched them, the main decision was which bag to choose. I narrowed it down to the Rover and Courier, with the Courier winning out due to its addtional features.
I find this to be the perfect computer bag. The insert is perfect, giving the most protection for my laptop available. I jump in and out of my truck on calls and have to carry my office with me. This bag is set up to allow for easy traveling, with lots of storage bins, plus an external cell phone pocket, perfect for someone who leaves his cell phone laying around in different places.
The carry strap is ideal and very comfortable, even when filled to the brim as I often do.
If you are looking for a great laptop bag, without looking like a geek pack or snobby leather job, then you will be very pleased with the Trager.
Andy Lampy - 2009-06-19Looks can be Deceiving
This bag is a great bag, but the dimensions of the inner laptop slip bag are much smaller. This slip will only house a 12-14 inch laptop at best. i have a 17' and was disappointing to find a slip that was 2 inches too short.
