Seattle Messenger Bag 4.9 5 11 11
Large, sturdy bag I bought this bag for my husband to use for work. It looks more professional than the backpack he was using, which was dirty from all our hiking trips. But it's still comfortable to carry, seems pretty sturdy, and hopefully, easy enough to carry while he's riding his bike (since it has the waist strap). Added bonus - it's large enough to hold our 17" laptop. June 21, 2010
Great so far I bought this bag after my other Trager bag (the laptop courier) started to show the wear -- of about 9 years of use. I've always had a great experience with the company when anything went wrong. They replaced plastic fasteners a couple of times, etc. I've only had the Seattle Messenger for a week or so but love it and expect to keep it for a while. It's more spacious than the laptop courier and very comfortable, especially with the load-bearing waist belt. April 8, 2009
Over 10 years of college life, business life, travel life... This bag has traveled the entire US minus AK and HI... and despite constantly carrying heavy (I mean med school text books from the 90s heavy) loads and being in absolutely rotten weather through midwest winters and SoCal summers... it looks and feels and works just like it's brand new. Laptops weren't even really commonplace when I got it, but it carried my (laughable) Toshiba and the US Robotics external 56k modem when I did some traveling work and had to securely transmit all the things my computer was kind enough to encrypt... In any case, I shove a bottle of Aquafina in the mesh pockets and zip halfway just to secure it... then I have small pockets for what used to be 3.5" discs and what are now more often flash drives... This has adapted well to my needs and rather than getting a laptop bag for a 17" gaming machine I just bought (not to game, really, just to have powerful graphics and have some fun HD entertainment)... well, I'm just buying a laptop sleeve and introducing my faithful Trager to its next tasks. It was mostly important back then to get the best quality... a lifetime warranty on a messenger bag, are they kidding? Short answer is no, they are not... The cobalt is absolutely beautiful, btw... I'm a lady and love love love it... and its weave details on the actual fabric are gorgeous. I'm proud to carry something from a company where the fabric, the thread, and the final product are all entirely US creations. September 26, 2008
9 years and still going strong I've had a Trager Seattle Messenger since the 1999. It has been everywhere from the Alaskan rainforest to meetings in New York, New York. It's been a briefcase, an overnighter, a bike bag, a picnic basket, and a tackle box. It has always served me well and worn well. Would love to have a padded insert for the laptop but other than that . . . nothing. June 16, 2008
Solid Amazing capacity. Very strong product(as you would expevt from Trager). Excellent value. June 28, 2006
Great bag. Minor storage concerns The bag is plenty roomy for my laptop and other stuff. Some options with compartments would have made it better (one compartment for computer, one big compartment for other big stuff, some pockets. I think it is what it was advertised as, so my fault for reading into it what I wanted, e.g. a place to put printed documents, a place to hold my 1 liter water bottle. It feels great across my shoulder, fits my body well. All in all a great bag for someone who doesn't want a backpack and wants to carry lots of stuff November 15, 2005
Holds and does everything!! I spent 2 weeks looking for the perfect bag on line. I found it! I have not changed to a different bag since I got it. I usually change bags frequently as they don't have "this or that", that I need. Actually, I have a shelf full. To start: 1.The shoulder strap is very well padded, adjustable length, sewn on so it doesn't slide when I walk. 2.Padded back with outside pocket for my hat and gloves or folders. 3. Large zippered compartment was perfect for my laptop and accessories or shopping. 4.Open pocket just the right size for wallet, diabetic supplies, make-up, other "essentials" except kitchen sink!! 5. The two zippered mesh pockets are great for my umbrella & phone and your 24 oz. nalyene bottle. 6. The other 3 front smaller pockets I use to hold keys, note pad, calculator, pen/pencil. 7. A lot of bags are similar but the real selling point is: I walk and let's face it, all this stuff gets heavy! The adjustable waist belt is fantastic!! Absolutely essential for me. If you can't tell, I love, love this bag. Wished it had come in blue or pink or some "ladies" colors though. Thank you!!! Jane Dunn March 5, 2005
overall a superb messenger bag Construction/durability: five stars (we'll see how long the love handle lasts) Material: five stars Design: four stars would've preferred D rings to swap shoulder straps - another zipper closing the secondary large internal pocket otherwise, will fit my powerbook g4 15" in a 'brain cell', "the ultimate hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy", power cords, mouse, my canon g5 in a padded sleeve, water bottle, large journal and notebook, cell phone, its power charger, spyderco harpy, pens, oakley sunglasses and its case, an orange, white nectarine and asian pear, several bags of peppermint and ginger tea, and of course, a towel; Adaptability/ease of use: five stars love the waist strap, sterling idea, Value, dollar for dollar, pound for pound: five stars (tumi, zero halliburton, mulholland bros, ogio, victorinox, ain't got nothing over trager) Have used it everyday for several weeks now, carrying all the shi...stuff above on new york subways, l.a. freeways (okay, it sits pretty in the back of my jeep), not one peep or groan from my bag... Performance: five stars! If you lined it with gore tex and waterproofed the zippers, it might truly be the shiznit! I searched and researched long and hard for a messenger bag of this quality and versatility...all for under a buck and free shipping...man, life is good February 13, 2005
Awesome!!! Perfect bag for law school's heavy loads. Ergonomic design keeps it comfortable even when loaded to the gills!!! October 5, 2004
Best pack I ever had This is just an awesome pack. I have used regular backpacks for school and work but they are nothing like this. This pack has tons of room for books, binders, even a laptop. Everthing is easy to access and put away. It is extremely comfortable and the waist strap is very useful. The extra support it gives helps the back a lot and makes it easier to walk with. This pack is also great for those who ride the bus. Unlike a backpack which you have to take off to sit down, you just swing this pack to your front and sit. I highly recommend this pack! perfect size business/overnighter I've looked far and wide for the perfect sized business bag that I can take on overnight trips. This is it! It holds all of my business papers, books, etc. and still has plenty of room for a folded shirt, toiletry kit, underwear, even gym clothes. April 26, 2004
