Edge Jr. is a winner
January 04, 2012
I bought one of these last Christmas (2010) for my 7 year old son. It has been a great boot bag. The costruction is tough enough to withstand his torture (20 plus days going to the mountain last season). Zippers are still working great. I foresee this bag outlasting the kids. The design is excellent. The way the boot pockets are arranged (Isosceles storage system) totally protects the stuff on the inside. Yay, no more broken goggles. The inside compartment is big enough for a helmet, couple of hats, goggles, gloves and a small lunch. There is also a small zipper pocket inside the main compartment for glasses, passes and little stuff. The backpack design is excellent for kids and has made getting from the car to the lodge much easier on this single dad with four kids. I bought my 6 year old one for Christmas this year and he is loving it. The ONE THING TO WATCH OUT FOR is the Edge Jr. will not accomodate larger size boots. The first bag was purchased last year when my son was 7. He is 8 now and his new ski boots are a fairly snug fit. Not sure how much bigger the boots can get before I will have to move to the full size Edge Boot bag. For comparison, my 12 year old is a size 9 1/2 and his Nordicas dont really fit (I could probably force them but it would be difficult). His size 8 Dalbellos did fit. So, big footed boys will outgrow the bag before it wears out. Ladies and boys with smaller feet will be able to use this bag for some time and it may be the only one they buy.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value
