A good all around sun hat
I bought this as a good all-around sun hat for various outdoor activities. It does the job...keeps the sun off my face & neck without being too big. The style looks a little more cowboy/western than the picture. I think this is because the brim sits flat when the hat is laying on a flat surface, but then the sides flare a little more when it's on your head.
As others have mentioned, this hat sits up higher on your head than a lifeguard-style hat. The leather straps are nice and comfortable for wearing the hat in a breeze. Construction quality is sturdy and the finish has an aged/patina look to it that is darker and more reddish than the picture shows.

Great hat for Summer
I'm usually a bit anxious about buying hats sight unseen, but this was one where the gamble paid off. Once I wore it a few times, it started to fit my head a bit better, and it's become a great go-to hat for summer in Lower Alabama.

Okay for the Money
The hat is darker/more orange hued than appears in the picture. Very stiff, so not as comfortable as some. Should be a good hiking hat, though, with a good chin strap for windy days or wearing on your back in shady places. Decent value for the money, and an excellent spf rating of 50!

Perfect Hat For Hiking
This is a very comfortable hat, wears well and is an excellent sun blocker. Materials and workmanship are top notch. Sizing is right on.
