Strong and light but could be more sturdy
July 13, 2011
Boiling water is a real safety hazard and worth taking seriously. Burns are a common outdoor injury. A sturdy potlifter is therefore very handy gear. This potlifter is very light and resists conducting heat pretty well. The shape is a little awkward for packing. The jaws have decent gripping ability. The hinge part is not visible in the photo but is a slightly thicker crossmember riveted in place. It is slightly too loose and is a possible failure point if accidentally crushed or bent. Otherwise it's a decent piece for weight watching ultralight enthusiasts.
