Goretex is great! Volcom Ziptech rocks!
March 08, 2012
Volcom snowboarding gear is great and if you get the Gore Tex line its as good as it gets. If you get Volcom pants with Zip Tech you have to get a Volcom jacket that also has zip tech so you can zip the two together and never worry about getting snow down your pants. My last pair of Volcom gore tex pants lasted 5 seasons of 30+ days of riding. The Eiffle Goretex pants are a little stiffer than my old pair but the fit is true to the Volcom's sizing chart. Not a big fan of the plastic Volcom emblems as I can see then breaking off with wear but thats a minor issue that may never arise. I think Volcom has the best functionality of all the major brands. Love the fact that I have plenty of different pockets to stash cash, credit cards, lip balm all separately.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, PerformanceQuality construction, lots of pockets & vents

These snowboarding pants are very roomy. I checked the size chart and ordered a Medium, but the waist and legs have too much room, even for layering, so I will exchange it for a Small. The waist has adjustable velcro straps, so you can custom your fit. These pants do sit on the crest of the hips, so for me they are as low-rise as I like to wear my pants. I love all the various pockets and leg vents. I ordered these pants because they feature removable knee pads, but the pads are not formed as I had hoped. The knee pads are flat, and they sit a little higher than I would have liked. For my leg measurements, I would have more knee protection if the pockets for the pads were placed lower on the legs. The pockets are secure, with zippers covered by velcro flaps.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, secure pockets
