It's a rugged and exceptionally well-designed timepiece equipped with Nike's new patented Zero Drift altimeter. Zero Drift is a special algorithm that monitors barometric pressure changes to distinguish between the weather and your progress up or down the mountain. A bar grid display also helps you identify changing pressure patterns. Unlike other outdoor racing chronographs that run for 24 or 48 hours, the Lance 4 has an expedition chronograph that tracks up to 1,000 hours, so you can monitor your progress for a little over 41 days. A practical and programmable hydration alarm can be set based on temperatures and race conditions, reminding you to drink at regular intervals. One-degree resolution on the digital compass helps keep you on course, but it can also be recalibrated if affected by strong magnetic fields. The Lance 4 also features a east-west declination adjustment and a tiny level bubble to keep bearings true.
