I agree with the other reviewers - Great Boots!!
I have always been a fan of Lowa boots - but I think my allegiance has changed. These boots have great construction, and I love the one-piece uppers, not to mention the gore tex liners. I have a slightly narrow foot (11.5, B to C width) and these boots fit great - sizing is true. I am using Superfeet green insoles, but I do that in all active foot wear. The boots keep my heels located and away from the toe end of the boots without over tightening the boots. The toe box is roomy as others have said, and downhills aren't a toe banging experience. I originally tried the Zamberlain Civetta GT RR boot, but these were a wider boot, and not as good a fit for me. Break-in is not bad, and I had no hot spots in my first few outings - things got better after the boots loosened up a bit and formed to my feet. Try 'em, you'll love 'em.

The absolute best pair of hiking boots to don my dogs.
Yesterday I hiked 25 mile section of AT, (Cosby to NFG), usually after a long hike boots off first thing, I kept the Zamberlan's on for the 2 hour ride back home, the boots are that comfortable. True to size, I purchased my regular shoe size! Plenty of room in the toe box excellent ankle support.

Just received my boots and they are everything i thought they would be!Top quality boots that will last for years. These are the most expensive boots i have ever bought and while they are not cheap that old saying you get what you pay for applies here. Simply put worth every penny!

Great boots
I took these boots on my recent 18 month backpacking trip. Great for all conditions, snow, volcanic ash, jungles, forests, deserts.... These boots are just amazing, kept my feet super dry in knee high snow... 100% waterproof. Non leather gore tex... could never pull that off. Made in Italy... my first pair are still great only bought a new pair for South America. Only downside is that when you treat the leather you lose that great texture/color... but it's not the end of the world. No need to break these in. Fit perfect!

YES THIS IS BETTER THEN IT LOOKS
Very true to size ( 10.5 ) Break-in less the 3 HRS for me. Superior performance for a boot or shoe. Its comfort, versatility & workmanship far exceeds its cost. Altrec's staff was there for me from A to Z. I had these on within 42 HRS of purchase. The 636 GT is a true find!

Very sure footed fit.
My second pair. The only boots out there that I will wear. Awesome comfortable snug fit which surrounds foot. No pinch points or hard spots. Holds foot very well from sliding forward on downhill hikes. Cushion sole eliminates pounding on feet. Nice styling. Quick and easy to get on and off. My feet never got wet while working or hiking in mud or water. Busted up sole after two years wearing most every day. Leather uppers still in good shape. The best crafted quality boot I've found. The only hiking boot and or work boot that I will wear as long as they are made.

Excellent backpacking and hiking boot
True size fit (US 10) with ample toe box yet snug heel cup and firm ankle support. Boot front-end rolls to improve gait and take pressure off metatarsal area and toes. Exceptional grip over boulders. Italian craftsmanship and quality can't be beat. My second pair, and the only boots I'll wear as long they make them.

Great Design & Quality
These are among the best designed and constructed boots I've seen. PRO's: vibram sole is grippy and has a natural rocking action, lacing eyelets extend to the toe box for a closer fit, heel cup is shaped with leather panels for better hold down, tongue is well padded and comfortable, thin rubber band protects the front of the boot ... and did I say that the quality is incredible. Cons: I'm going to miss them since they have too much volume for my narrow feet, but they would be a great boot for someone with a more typical 'D' width. Well worth the price.

Returned these due to poor fit.
These didn't work out for me. The fit wasn't quite right and the tongue was thick and bunched up. So I sent them back. The quality and workmanship seemed very good. The 996 Vioz GT was far more comfortable and the perfect boot for me.

Crazy good boot
Got the Baffin for some hiking in California earlier this year...this is literally the best boot I've ever put on my foot and I've worn everything from Asolo to Vasque and in between. The sole on this shoe is crazy comfortable and the traction is amazing. Never had a Zamberlan before this pair but I don't see how I can wear any other brand of Italian made boot. I think Zamberlan is one of the last manufacturers to still make in Italy now that Vasque and Asolo have left...hard to believe this won't be recognized as the best boot in America, it is ridiculously good. Also notable is the comfort of the one piece leather upper and the wicked good looks. The sole is what makes this boot so good.
