Zamberlan Baltoro
March 15, 2011

I own several pair of Zambie's, the Baltoro ran small compared to the Skill, Vioz and Trekker. I have worn many different brand of boots and the Zamberlan are the best boot for my foot and usage. I did return the Baltoro because of the fit; but they are a well constructed and durable boot. There isn't a place these boots couldn't handle. They are heavy, but that's what you are buying... an extended and well designed boot. I still think the Vioz is the way to go though

If the shoe fits and your stature suits
March 09, 2011

The Zamberlan 638 Baltoro is a beautifully crafted hiking boot made from high quality materials. I like the fact that the leather is full grain for support and is Hydrobloc for water resistance and waxed reducing the need for conditioning. I also like the fact that this boot has a partial kid skin leather lining for comfort and no Gore-Tex membrane blocking the leather's ability to breathe. But, the last on this boot is too generous in the forefoot and requires that I wear two pairs of socks for a comfortable fit. The pitched forward stance designed to push the stride forward forces more of my 225 lbs onto the under knuckles of my toes than I can stand causing bruising and pain. If this boot fits your foot and you are shorter and lighter that I am, I'm sure you will find the 638 a hiking boot to your liking.

Pros: materials, workmanship, no gore-tex membrane, partial leather lining, waxed finish
Cons: forward pitched stance

Amazing Boots
February 14, 2011

I got these boots about 2 months ago after taking a lot of time to research. The Zamberlan brand is one of the best out there and I think from the build quality of these boots you would be safe with any of their products. These boots in particular are extremely warm, waterproof and comfortable. Because they are leather, the only downside I see is that they scratch up easily, but who wants outdoor gear that looks like it hasn't been used anyway? I typically wear a size 10.5 and have extremely wide feet - bought a size 11 and they fit well, but may be a little narrow for me. For people with wide feet, but not extremely wide, these should fit perfectly. Buy these, enjoy them and thank yourself later.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
