Fantastic boot with wide toe box
After having a child, shopping for hiking boots became a nightmare. I used to be an 8C which was pretty easy. The Zamberlan Civetta fit me like a glove and I never got a blister, even right out of the box. In fact they were so great, they would walk me, as if they had little motors or built in springs. So based on being spoiled like that I resolved to wear only Zamberlans. So fast forward several years and now my feet are a 9D+ with a higher instep too. The Civetta (even in the right size) is too low in the instep and almost everything is too tight in the toe box. I even called Zamberlan in Italy to ask them to make me a custom boot--alas, I would have to go there in person for them to do that. I have ordered, and returned, 4 or 5 other styles of Zamerlans, including Baffin, Vioz, Trekker and Steep. None were right but the Cristallo shines. They can handle my superwide toes beautifully, even with heavy socks, and oh, yes, they have springs or little motors and do the walking for me. Thanks! BTW it was great to get the best price and surprise overnight shipping from Altrec. :)

Fabulous boots
My 16 year old boots were finally ready to be tossed aside in part as I now hike about with a 1.5 year old on my back most days in the Vermont woods. These boots are magnificent. Super comfy right away and very supportive even with a heavy load on my back. Great grip, seem waterproof so far and just are so good all around (and rather attractive too). And my boy and I love the word Zamberlan! Really great boots. Highly recommend.

great boot
I am loving the Zamberlen Cristallos. They were super-comfy right out of the box, and provide incredible stability. Have not worn them hiking yet, but have worn them about town. Metal facets to wrap the laces make them easy on/off. I agree with the prior reviewer that said they're more of a gray-blue. A very pretty dove gray-blue, I would say - a versatile color. I'm a size 7 regular shoe/7.5 running shoe, with an average to wide foot, and the 7 is perfect for me; there's some room to wear a thicker sock as well.

Comfy, Comfy, Comfy
After losing the sole on my hiking boots during my last backpacking trip I was desperate for a new pair. With my wide feet, I had no luck finding a suitable hiking boot at any local stores, so I had to take my chance and order online. After researching many boots and reading many reviews I settled on the Zamberlan 995 Cristallo GT hiking boot. I received the boots 6 days before my scheduled backpacking trip. I felt comfort as soon as I put them on and had no problems on the trip even with the very limited break-in time. I was worried about blisters because the boots did seem to loosen up easy (maybe because of the round laces??)and I could feel my heels slipping but I never had a problem. The hike was pretty muddy and wet, but my feet stayed dry. Furthermore, I had no aching feet while carrying the heavy backpack. These boots were far better than I had hoped for and I absolutely love them. Now we just have to wait and see how long they hold up for, but so far so great! My only thought is that they may be too wide/loose for people with narrow feet.

Heel blisters after first long hike.
Takes long time to break in. Bought these boots with great hopes. Wore them for 3 weeks of light hiking around home to break them in. My heels have blisters after returning from a week of hiking in Zion and Bryce National Parks, this after the 3 weeks of light hiking. Don't feel I need to be putting moleskin on my heels with boots that cost over $200.00. I don't have any problems with the heels rubbing on any other shoes. Disappointed in this expensive boot. They appear to be very well made. I don't care for the higher heel on these boots. While climbing out on rocky, precipitous ledges, I would prefer a boot keeping me closer to the ground, less heel height. The boot provided good traction on the rocks.

Not Waterproof!! but Comfortable
First time I put these on they were extremely comfy. No break in time. However, after spending a few hours in the rain they were wet all the way through.

Great Boots!
Did a 9 mile carriage-way hike with these right out of the box. No break-in for that hike. Followed that hike up with a ridge hike in the Hudson Valley. No blisters to speak of! The boots fit well, and provided great traction and support (Nice toe box size and secure fit).

Best Women's Hiking
The local REI only had the Zamberlan Trekker Hiking Boots in the store to try for size and comfort. While researching which Zamberlan boot to purchase I read JKC's Altrec Review and decided on the Women's 995 Cristallo GT. They are absolutely perfect! Fit and comfort right out of the box. Went hiking the entire day when they arrived. Don't buy Chinese - Buy Italian... You will be VERY Happy You Did!

Great supportive boot
I recently tried four different women's Zamberlan boots--the Tundra, Skill, Vioz, and Cristallo (all size 7.5). They all seem to run true to size and feel comfortable right out of the box. Of the four, the Cristallo had the widest fit and seemed the most heavy duty. They come up high on the ankle and offer a lot of support. They are actually grey in color, with maybe a very slight hint of blue. If you have a normal to wide foot, I would recommend these. For narrower feet, I would look at the other selections from Zamberlan.
